Possessing the proper landing page design can be the difference between a sale made and a lost sale. If you have a distracting website design, your visitor will merely become overwhelmed and go away without clicking your affiliate link and making a purchase. You have to find the right balance between beauty and effectiveness.
The best landing page design needs to be straightforward to navigate through. If your visitor can not navigate through your website, they will be stuck on that single page. While that single page could be the page you would like them to read to convert them into buyers, it simply might not be enough for them. You need to provide a navigation menu where they can locate an FAQ page, a Contact Page, a Testimonials Page, an Articles Page and your Home Page link. Ideally it would be best to incorporate your affiliate link in the menu as well.
A trend that I see lately is that people are turning to blogs in order to presell the visitors. I sincerely dislike this and the reason being that an individual visits a blog to simply read blog posts. These are individuals usually seeking free stuff. The home page of these blogs typically are simply made up of the latest blog posts. So there isn’t any warming up or pre-selling of the visitor on there. Ideally, you want your home page to be a strong focal point where the reader’s interest is caught immediately. So, on your home page, you must have the presell copy where you will warm up the reader to the product that you are endorsing.
Note, I said presell and not sell. A great affiliate will warm up the visitors so they become curious and want to find out more of the product you are promoting. I’ve seen that most people go about the wrong way to preselling the visitors and do a hard sell and tell them that this is what they must have to repair their difficulty. Sure, it looks like that is the best approach to go about warming up a visitor. Although, the best way is to relate to the reader. If you are able to connect to the visitor in the landing page design, you will gain their trust much better than straight selling.
As you can see, the best affiliate web page must relate to the visitor and warm them up to the product you are pitching. Once you do that, then they’ll much more likely click your affiliate link, read the vendor’s page and purchase the product.
